Swarming EPL: AI Picks for the Weekend of October 13th

The only thing that could cool off the weekly English Premier League Swarm was having a week away for World Cup qualifiers. Back in at the end of the September, the swarm nailed all three of its high confidence picks, offering a nice return on any parlay plays.

This week the swarm has another set of high-confidence predictions. The EPL season is now nearing the first quarter pole, and the swarm participants – all of whom are just average Premiership fans – have learned a lot about how the teams in the League are playing this season. With that knowledge comes an ability to better differentiate between high and low confidence contests.

In Week Seven, even after hearing about Sergio Aguero missing the match against formidable Chelsea, our swarm correctly predicted City to win. With Man. City hosting Stoke it comes as no shock that this is our pick of the week. However, we’d like to highlight another high confidence game the swarm predicted, namely Bournemouth playing third-place Tottenham.

Technically, this is a home game for the Spurs, but with the season-long construction of their new stadium at White Hart Lane they’re playing home games at Wembley, hardly a hospitable setting in recent history. Even mindful of the supposed “Wembley Jinx” on the Spurs (numerous participants called it out during the swarm), the 19th-place Cherries of Bournemouth would seem to be easy pickings here (yeah, we went there.) As the replay above shows, we get a rapid convergence to a 2 goals-plus margin in the game, and that’s backed up by a high dollar confidence hypothetical wager. Tottenham can go be as Spursy as they like on Saturday, but the swarm still believes they take this one handily.

Every week, researchers at Unanimous AI gather a Swarm of EPL fans to predict all of the weekend’s action. Want to join the Swarm, or just have the picks delivered to your inbox? Click the button below…
