The weekly UNU Swarm of baseball fans has some strong results so far in the first three weeks of the season. That’s been especially the case with the recommended picks the swarm has made each week. That’s impressive, given that the swarm is making very small slice assessments of a season that plays out across a long time span from spring to the fall.

For most baseball fans, the game that jumps out is the big rivalry series at Fenway Park between the Red Sox and Yankees, but the researchers at Unanimous A. I. are interested in the way the swarm interpreted two other games.

One of the great joys of a new baseball season is seeing which players will have breakout seasons, and players fitting that bill are featured in the two games above. For Baltimore, it’s starter Dylan Bundy. Having overcome arm injuries a few years ago, Bundy has shown all the potential the Orioles once expected of him in the early going in 2017. Meanwhile, in Milwaukee it’s the Eric Thames show. Exiled to the Korean Baseball Organization after washing out of the majors, Thames is back, leading the league with 10 homers. He’s the tentpole of a potent Brewer lineup so far this season.
