One of the factors that the swarm of NHL fans convened each week by Unanimous AI considers each game is home teams playing against visitors. NHL arenas are typically loud and inhospitable places for visitors to play, and the swarm may occasionally give the nod in a close game to the team playing on home ice. Looking at the chart of the swarm’s predictions for tonight, they gave the home team the nod in four of their six highest-confidence games.

There have been few better stories in the NHL this year so far than the Vegas Golden Knights and the way the local community has embraced their first-ever major professional league sports franchise. The Knights have been tremendous on their home ice, and judging from the comments of our swarm participants, that knowledge helped fuel the way the group assessed this game.

Looking at the replay above, we can see all the factors fall into place that go into a pick being placed at the top of the chart. First, the swarm predicts the Knights to win by two goals or more. That’s the most important confidence factor to consider. The swarm gets to that two-goal confidence with an 85% Brain Power and almost all magnets on the Vegas side of the hex. That’s two more factors that move this up. Finally, the swarm put an $80 hypothetical wagering confidence on the game, and picked it as their pick of the night.  Check and mate; make the swarm look good, Vegas!
