Swarming MLB: UNU Throws out the First Pitch On Opening Day

For baseball fans across the country, Opening Day is as much a revered holiday as Christmas or Thanksgiving. Every team is optimistic, every fan base has hope that by October they’ll contending for a World Series title. Earlier, Unanimous A. I. revealed the season-long predictions made by a swarm of baseball fans using UNU, our Swarm A.I. technology. Today, we’ll cover the actual picks for the first games of the season that will be played on Sunday and Monday.

Picking games for the very start of the season is a unique challenge for an UNU Swarm. Without any games (at least games that count) to work with, swarm participants have to base their decisions off last season’s performances and perceptions of any off-season moves might pan out. In addition, teams traditionally open the season with their best starting pitchers on the mound. That creates some very tough matchups, like this one in the desert that pits two All Star hurlers against one another when the Giants face the Diamondbacks.

Every week during the coming MLB season, Unanimous A.I. will be conducting swarms to pick the outcomes of games. If you’d like to either join a swarm or just get the predictions weekly, feel free to drop us a line below.
