One of the fun things about the early days of a new baseball season is seeing which unexpected teams are breaking out. In 2018 in the National League, it’s safe to say that Arizona, Milwaukee and Atlanta are three surprise division leaders. It’s up to the weekly swarm of MLB fans to figure out if the early season successes are a fluke, or if those teams are here to stay.

Today the Baseball Swarm chose Boston over Texas as their pick of the night, but their confidence was a bit muted. That game barely beat out the surprising Milwaukee Brewers, who host the Pirates tonight at Miller Field.

Milwaukee is off to a hot start, leading the National League Central despite injuries to slugger Eric Thames and closer Corey Knebel. As the replay above shows, the swarm is a little torn on whether to pick the Brew Crew by 1 or 2 runs, and the pick isn’t quite a unanimous consensus either. Still, the swarm put this matchup at a higher hypothetical bet confidence than its pick of the night, so it may be a strong pick to click overall.
