Last year, a swarm composed of Boston Globe readers used our Swarm AI platform to pull off a remarkable feat of predictive intelligence when they accurately named 9 out of 10 MLB playoff teams, the last 8 teams standing, the two World Series teams, and the eventual champion Chicago Cubs. This year, the MLB Swarm did even better. A group of baseball fans using our Swarm AI platform managed to predict every single division winner and wildcard heading into the postseason. Below you can see the results of that swarm, held on August 23rd.

DODGER WIN WOULD COMPLETE AI’S WORLD SERIES PREDICTION

Now that the field has been whittled down to two teams, we can see just how accurate the AI’s postseason picks turned out to be. While the Dodgers cruised past the defending champion Cubs, the Astros’ dramatic game seven victory over the Yankees insured that both of our MLB Swarm’s World Series picks would find their way to the championship. And, as you can see in the chart above and the replay below, the MLB Swarm predicts that Dodger fans will be celebrating their first World Series championship since Kirk Gibson’s heroics in 1988.
