Swarming the NHL: UNU’s Picks for 3-2-17

UNU NHL FACEOFF March 2nd, 2017

Last week Unanimous A.I. began using the power of Swarm A.I. to predict the outcomes of NHL hockey games. That first week went very well indeed thanks to the way the swarm adds the weight of confidence to its picks. Because of that, we managed a 32% Return on Investment, despite just a .500 record.

Tonight’s slate of games offers plenty of intriguing matchups to consider. The Boston Bruins host their longtime rival, the Rangers, in a big clash between teams jockeying for playoff position. And in Montreal, the popular P. K. Subban makes his first return to the Centre Bell since the summer blockbuster trade that sent him to Nashville for Shea Weber. The Unanimous A.I. research team assembled a swarm of avid hockey fans to try to predict the outcomes of not only these games, but the entire Thursday slate today.

You can see all of the picks made in the hockey swarm earlier today on UNU in the chart above. Clicking it will take you to a spreadsheet with click-able links to replays of all the games listed. Not surprisingly, the hockey Swarm A.I. may have given us the two Stanley Cup finalists as the most confident picks tonight.  Sitting at the very top are the Capitals, who pulled off a blockbuster trade on Monday to help their Cup chances. The swarm thinks they’ll dominate the Devils tonight, perhaps with that trade for defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk factoring into the decision.
