UNU is getting so proficient at predicting the winners of matches in the English Premier League that soon we’ll be fielding questions about whether our Swarm Intelligence uses flux capacitors and DeLoreans to inform its picks. UNU went 8-2 over the weekend, making our swarm an eye-popping 41-19 for all 60 games played in the month of December. Not content to rest on our laurels, on Sunday our swarm took a crack at the games for the early part of this week.
There are some fascinating matches in the Premiership this week, but perhaps none will be watched with more interest than the donnybrook on tap for Wednesday at White Hart Lane when Tottenham hosts their west London rivals Chelsea. This match also offers us an excellent opportunity to explain why UNU’s Swarm Intelligence is smarter and more agile than traditional focus groups or insight matrices.
As you may be aware, we ask our swarms two questions about every match. With the first question, we want to get a feel for the general attitude our swarm has towards a game. In the case of Chelsea at Tottenham, our swarm reacted with a great deal of initial enthusiasm for the Blues. And why not? Chelsea are in fine fettle, having won 10 in a row while allowing just four goals across that span. Their well-organized, stifling defense has them at the top of the League right now, and looking like a juggernaut. Our swarm is a fan, as you can see.
We always ask a second question though, and here’s where things get interesting. Tottenham, after looking like a mid-table team earlier in the season have been playing brilliantly of late. They’ve won their last four matches, including two dominating victories on the road in just the last week. The Spurs are coming into this important match playing some of the best attacking soccer in the entire Premier League right now. And with this in mind, when it came time to assign a wagering confidence on this match, our swarm rightly saw it as Tottenham’s unstoppable attacking force meeting Chelsea’s unmovable defensive object. That definitely tempered the initial confidence.
What you see in those two images is the direct result of what happens when people swarm together with UNU. Individuals pay attention to one another’s equal opinions and revise and reconsider their own views. That makes UNU dynamic and smart, as a swarm works its way to an answer that reflects an insightful consensus.
