A.I. calls FBI biased by Alt-Right influence

Last week, FBI director James Comey may have delivered the biggest twist of all in election filled with them when he announced that Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton was once again under investigation for potentially jeopardizing classified information. Comey’s relatively vague statement reignited a scandal that has dogged Clinton for months, just days before the election. But, recent reports in the Guardian claim that the FBI was motivated by “deep antipathy for Clinton” and ties to the alt-right rather than the expressed desire for transparency.

What can we, the voting public, make of these allegations? Researchers at Unanimous A.I. set out answer this by using Artificial Swarm Intelligence, a mix of computational algorithms and real input from real people in real time. The process taps the wisdom, insights, and intuitions of human participants as they think together as a closed-loop system, using swarming algorithms to converge on optimized answers.   The mix of human wisdom and software processing has proven to reveal powerful insights (see how Swarm Intelligence predicted the full baseball season here).

So what did the swarm say about the FBI’s involvement in the 2016 election? Below is an example of the Swarm Intelligence responding to a series of direct questions, probing the FBI’s most likely motivation for announcing the renewed investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails:

FBI

As you can see, the swarm deemed it most likely that FBI was driven by “alt-right influence” rather than standard operating procedure. The Swarm’s response seems to align with the report that the FBI’s current probe “fails to find evidence, but relies on alt-right propaganda.”

All of this prompts an even more important question – what effect, if any, will the FBI’s comments have on the election? Researchers at Unanimous AI asked the Swarm:

FBI Impact

The Swarm Intelligence expressed a clear conviction that the FBI comments will have a genuine impact on the election.  And with emerging allegations that Trump team-member, Rudy Guiliani may have been the driving force behind Comey’s announcement, it raises questions about election misconduct.  If that’s true, and the Swarm’s perception of the FBI’s motivations are also borne out, one has to wonder about who will be investigating the FBI?
