The current Major League Baseball season is now under a full head of steam in its second week, with teams getting set for the long grind of the spring and summer. Researchers at Unanimous A. I. will be putting together swarms regularly throughout the season to predict a sport that often seems completely unpredictable.
Last week the UNU Swarm posted an 9-6 record across 14 Opening Day games. That’s especially impressive when you consider that the swarm participants enlisted by Unanimous A. I. were really working with either old data (last season’s stats) or imperfect data (spring training exhibition game results.) The UNU platform again showed its ability to amplify the intelligence of individual users in that case, so what does this week’s swarm have?
Having a week’s worth of games to look at, this week’s UNU swarm had some more reliable data to work with when making their predictions. Even with some teams having seven or eight games in the books, however, that’s still a very small sample size for the swarm to try to work from. Still, perhaps UNU has detected some early trends, such as the one we see in the swarm’s highest-confidence pick.
Every week during the coming MLB season, Unanimous A.I. will be conducting swarms to pick the outcomes of games. If you’d like to either join a swarm or just get the predictions weekly, feel free to drop us a line below.
