Both Boston and defending champions Golden State went sprinting out of the gates this season to assume early leads in the Eastern and Western conference, respectively. Lately, though, they’ve been usurped. Toronto has taken control in the East, with Houston riding a 13-game winning streak to the top of the west. All four of those first-place contenders are in action tonight, looking to hold serve. Here’s how the weekly swarm of NBA fans sees them faring this evening.

Many preseason pundits expected the Raptors to be good this season, but not many saw them sitting in first place in the East as the NBA schedule heads into March. Both Toronto and second place Boston play tonight, with the Celtics getting a cozy home game against Charlotte while the Raptors enjoy some sunshine against the Magic in Orlando.

As the replay shows, the NBA Swarm really likes Toronto’s chances here, but with an important caveat. First of all, though, note how fast the consensus of magnets group up to the Toronto side of the hex and take the puck to a “Toronto, High confidence” answer. That’s one of our key signals of confidence from the swarm when they do that. They also put a $100 hypothetical wager on this, showing explicitly the strength of their convictions on this. However, the swarm still went with only a 7-9 point spread here, suggesting that for the wagering public, this game is maybe best used as a key in a multi-game betting setup.
