This is a fascinating time of year to be a hockey fan, especially in the 2017-18 season. The NHL trade deadline next month is looming larger and larger with  the standings bunching up in both conferences. The next few weeks are crucial for teams to determine whether they’re buyers or sellers.  The weekly NHL Swarm had to be mindful of that urgency when picking games for tonight and tomorrow.

Unanimous AI’s research revealed some very interesting predictions this week. One thing that jumps out is the number of road teams the group predicted would win. Five of the six top confidence picks for tonight and tomorrow’s hockey games were for the road team to prevail. Especially interesting is the pick of Vegas over Nashville. Because the swarm only predicted a one goal win, the $74 confidence put that game right on the cusp between high confidence and a cautionary forecast, and it’s one to keep an eye on.

The NHL Swarm’s pick of the week this week is also interesting, because it wasn’t the game the swarm assigned its highest hypothetical bet confidence to. It’s hard to argue the choice of the Bruins, however, as they’ve been the hottest team in hockey the last few weeks. The swarm in the replay above comes to a fast consensus on this contest to be played tomorrow evening, and you can see that all the magnets are on the Bruins’ side of the hex. When asked to make a pick of the night, this game was the choice in a tug-of-war over the Sharks at Arizona.
