The NHL season is a marathon that sometimes seems like a sprint. League observers and fans expect that what they see one week will obviously be true the next. That’s often not the case, however. Between now and the end of the season in March, the fortunes of every team will wax and wane somewhat. The weekly NHL Swarm tries to get out ahead of those trends with its predictions, and here’s what they’ve got for tonight.
The defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins have been up and down this season. They’ve also played a huge number of road games, and are finally at home tonight to meet another underachieving team, the Buffalo Sabres. The swarm loves the Pens tonight, and expressed high confidence in a number of ways. The replay below shows not only high Brainpower, but also an expectation of a 2 goals-plus win (when we see that, it always gets our attention). The swarm backed that up with a high confidence hypothetical wager, and then made it their pick of the night.
