For most of the MLB season, it looked like the big drama in the American League would be a mad scramble between four teams to stay out of the wildcard. Which might be exciting enough, but everyone in that scenario still makes the postseason. But in a season of hot streaks, the Athletics have jumped into the fray by going 24-5 over their last 29 games, setting up for a terrific second half pennant race in the powerful American League West.
On Tuesday, the MLB Swarm correctly picked 10 of 15 games, which is great. Unfortunately, the Yankee bullpen couldn’t keep the Orioles from scoring, and the Bronx Bombers lost in extra innings and spoiled our pick of the night (which is obviously less great.) The swarm of baseball fans gets back after it tonight, with this set of forecasts for the evening’s action.
A pretty good sign that a baseball team is in the middle of a terrific season might be having a pitcher two years removed from a Cy Young award as the number five guy at the back of the starting rotation. That’s what’s going on with the Astros, who lead both Oakland and Seattle in the highly competitive American League West. Tonight Houston sends that number five guy, Dallas Keuchel, out to face the Tigers. Even though the former staff ace may not be having as strong a season as the rest of the guys in that illustrious Astros rotation…he’s still pretty good.
This is an interesting replay, because while most of the swarm is definitely sold on the Astros in tonight’s game, there are a couple of magnets either doubting Keuchel…or thinking that Tiger starter Mike Fiers – a former Astro – may be out to show up his old team. Regardless, what we see here is the magnets clustered to the right side of the hex for Houston. The swarm then followed their high confidence two-run prediction margin with a maximum $100 virtual bet before choosing this game as their pick of the night.
