The NBA campaign is off to a fascinating start for the 2018-19 season. Although clubs like Toronto and Golden State sit in the upper echelons of the standings as expected, for now at least they’re joined by some surprising clubs; the Clippers, Denver, and Milwaukee among others are off to strong starts. Meanwhile, there have also been some surprising disappointments in the season’s first month as well, with Boston still trying to find some chemistry and Houston suffering from the Melo Curse that took down Oklahoma City last year. Here’s how the weekly swarm of NBA fans predicted tonight’s games:
As the chart shows, the swarm was very confident in many picks today. That’s because a cursory glance at the schedule reveals a number of potential mismatches and lopsided scores. It may seem counter-intuitive, but this is the kind of schedule that can make predictions especially difficult for the Unanimous AI research team to analyze, because it introduces the possibility of some overconfidence. While we certainly stand by our predictions, we thought it was only prudent to note tonight’s unusual schedule and urge a modicum of caution; a slate of games like tonight’s is how sports books get rich. That being said, our swarm had little trouble identifying the highest of high confident picks among this evening’s games.
Even on a day of very confident predictions, this one stands out. The swarm’s cohesion here is very notable, as the entire group not only pulls to the Milwaukee side of the hexagon, but they also exhibit heavy agreement that Giannis and company will defeat the Bulls easily. This was the swarm’s strong consensus at pick of the night tonight.
