Although the weather’s getting cooler as winter draws near, the weekly NHL Swarm has been red-hot. Last week the swarm posted a 6-2 record, putting them well over .500 for the year so far. This level of swarm performance early in the year is very interesting.
The most obvious implication is that swarm participants are bringing some serious knowledge to bear on things. They’ve caught on that the expansion Vegas Golden Knights are playing great hockey. They’ve figured out that Vancouver and New Jersey aren’t nearly the doormats they were predicted to be…and they’ve also caught on that some pre-season wiseguy favorites (we’re looking at you, Edmonton and Buffalo) are struggling out of the gate. Here’s what they’ve picked for tonight.
For the second week in a row, the swarm’s pick of the night at the top of our chart is largely based on “Who’s playing Arizona today?” The Coyotes have struggled a lot in the early going, and tonight they have to play the Stanley Cup champs in Pittsburgh. Although the betting confidence is curiously low-key here, the rest of the metrics aren’t. We’ve got a 2-goals-plus prediction, with high brainpower and also a lot of magnet convergence from the outset. That clearly separates this game on confidence from the rest of the contests this evening.
