AI PREDICTS WORTHY CLIMAX TO INCREDIBLE WORLD SERIES
Tonight’s the night: Game Seven of the 2017 World Series, and frankly if they wanted to make this thing a best-of-15, we’d be all in favor. The Astros and Dodgers played yet another compelling game on Tuesday, setting up tonight’s winner-take-all. The game will have historic overtones. This is the first time since the 1931 that two 100-game winning teams have met for a World Series Game Seven. And in the storied history of Dodger Stadium, amazingly this is the first World Series Game Seven.
As always, we asked our Baseball Swarm to predict how tonight’s game might play out. The swarm participants were given two important pieces of information. First, we reminded them that tonight’s starters – Lance McCullers, Jr and Yu Darvish – met in Game Three, and McCullers got the win while Darvish left in the 2nd inning after giving up four runs.
The swarm was also told this unique bit of history. Since 1985, 16 teams have come home trailing in a best of seven playoff series three games to two and forced a game seven. In those 16 situations, the home team is 14-2 in the clinching game. The swarm discussion was split on whether that was a trend or a blip, but they weren’t split on giving Los Angeles a slight advantage in hitting for power and just getting on base.
But maybe most importantly, the swarm just doesn’t trust the Astros’ bullpen. And so, by a very slight margin, the Baseball Swarm thinks the Dodgers will win tonight, but that 57% Brainpower is so low that we wouldn’t recommend you do anything with this game other than enjoying watching how it plays out this evening.
