Can we pick the Winning Powerball Numbers… together?

Regular players of Powerball are painfully aware that there was no winner of Wednesday’s $500 million drawing. That means that the jackpot for tonight’s drawing will earn over $900 million. A winning ticket would be a game-changer for just about anyone (cue Elmo & Jimmy’s happy dance).

But with such a huge pot, there will be more players and tougher odds than usual. Powerball estimates tonight’s odds at 1 in 292 million. Should you even try?  At just $2 a ticket, it seems worth a shot. But is there anything you can do to improve those microscopic odds?

Here at Unanimous A.I. we’ve developed UNU – a new social platform that taps the Collective Intelligence of networked groups.  Research using UNU has already shown that groups, when pooling their knowledge, intuition, and insights, can make smarter predictions than individuals.

In fact, just last week groups using UNU predicted the College Bowl games with higher accuracy than ESPN, Sports Illustrated, and FiveThirtyEight, and made 27% return against the vegas odds.  (College Bowl Predictions.)  Here is a replay of the group predicting the Rose Bowl:

But what about the Lottery?

…can a Collective Intelligence pick the Powerball numbers through some kind of group PSYCHIC POWERS?   We have no idea.  That said, there are legitimate scientists who believe that large groups can make accurate predictions.  Researchers at Princeton have been exploring this for decades.  So, there’s at least a chance that UNU could enable a group to predict the lottery numbers….

Or, it could be totally crazy… but it’s still fun to try.

So, do you want to help pick the Powerball numbers as a Collective Intelligence?  If so, we’re putting together the largest Human Swarm in history to make the picks and see what happens.  Odds are, it will be a total bust – but it should be fun.  And if it works, you can help make history!

If you want to be a part of it, fill out the form below and we’ll send you an invite when the group is ready to go.
